Subjects: man and natures Relationship: respect Facts: nature provides inspiration to the man. Story: A man came along from down the trail and asked Mother Nature to tell him a tale. First went the boulder, great and strong It had been there for several million years long. It said, “I am the boulder, ask what you please. For I have been here since these valleys were seas.” Next went the river, its ending was never, It described its views of spectacular treasure. “All that surrounds you is more precious than gold, Enjoy it forever,” That’s what it told. Then went the clouds drifting on by, They thought what they say was a beautiful sight. They told him to keep the valley this way, And that he would thank them some time, some day. “Thank you,” said the man. “That was a beautiful tale. I’m keeping this valley, and I shall not fail.” |

Subjects: Cottontail and Red-Tailed Fox Relationship: The fox is always trying to catch the cottontail, while the cottontail tries to escape. Facts: cottontail listens for predators, cottontail has lots of babies, cottontail thumps fee when in danger, cottontail runs in zig-zag pattern; fox sniffs for its prey Story: "Where’s that darn bunny," Said the fox to himself. "I can't find him anywhere He’s sneaky like an elf." "I smell something new Something sweet in the air. It’s my dinner, my favorite I’ll find his bunny lair." "What’s that?" Said the bunny, "I hear a soft pounding." With the twist of one ear, He took off a-bounding Zigging and zagging They took off in chase, To his hole, in the ground, The rabbit ran in great haste "You might catch me soon, But I have a solution. I have 29 babies That’s our evolution" "I’ll never go hungry," Said the fox to the bunny. "I think your solution Is really quite funny." |
